Well, well, well, what a funny old week this has been – a bit of this and a bit of that.
For starters I’ve been loving learning about and playing my new digital piano.
If I tell you that the last time I had a piano was when I was 20, you’ll understand how long it has been, and how rusty I am, although over the years I have seized any opportunity I can to play when I’ve been with friends or family members who have had a piano.
It’s going to take me a little while to get to grips with all it’s features (technology has moved on in leaps and bounds since I was 20!) and to start playing it at the level that I want, but I’ll be sure to share my progress with you as I go along.
As I mentioned in my last post, the Cover Project that I’m working on with Mike Raine is now coming to a conclusion. All the vocal recording is complete and we’ve both spent a lot of time listening and identifying areas which we’ve felt have needed fixing – endings too long, endings too short, voice levels, places where I’ve needed to re-sing etc. We’re just about ready for mastering, so it won’t be long now before I can start to share the tracks.
What I can share with you this week, however, is my first ever lyric video. Thanks to many of my newsletter subscribers who voted, ‘Somewhere’ is going to be the 3rd single release from my debut album ‘Laini Colman’. I will be shooting a performance video for the single, but in the meantime I hope you enjoy watching this
