I hope this post finds you well. First of all, to everyone in the US, I hope you had a wonderful 4th July.
In this post I wanted to bring you up to date with progress on my second album as I realise I haven’t told you much about it yet.
It seems to have been an eternity in the making (about 10 months now) but then I have had several breaks when I haven’t been able to work on it at all (either because I haven’t had the physical time or the emotional and mental energy) so I’m not stressing about that. The most important thing for me is that I get it right – the sound and the feel – something that I feel proud to share with you.
Having said all that I would like to think that it will be ready for release by the end of the year. I’ve chosen 9 songs (of the 16 that I’ve recorded so far) for inclusion, so need to decide on at least 2 more (or write 2 more). I’m slowly going through the 9 recordings, re-working the vocals and highlighting any areas where I feel the production needs tweaking or changing.
Today though, I’d love to share with you the intro to one of the songs (still very raw as it has not yet been properly mixed). It is hauntingly beautiful thanks to a wonderful fiddle track laid down by my friend Matt Steady from Leicester in the UK (http://www.mattsteady.com). Matt is an amazing multi-instrumentalist, producer and song-writer and I feel very honoured to have him playing on one of my tracks.

I look forward to sharing the final track with you.
