I hope this post finds you safe and well.
This week has been a little quiet for me on the music front as I’ve been spending quite a bit of time helping my Husband, Peter, set up some admin structures and systems for his new business venture. I used to feel quite frustrated when I couldn’t find the time for music – when other work or chores took over – but I’m much more relaxed about it nowadays and see it all as part of the rich structure of life. Interestingly, I’ve also learnt that if I take time out from music, I’m more creative and productive when I do return to it.
Having said that, this week hasn’t been totally music-free. On Wednesday I found the time to record an acoustic version of a new song I’m working on with Mike Raine, called ‘When I Dream’ which I posted in my facebook group “Laini’s Beach Shack”. If you’d like to see it and be part of the group then just sign up for my newsletters (see footer) and the link will be in your welcome e-mail.
Also, now that I’ve released 3 singles from my debut album, I’m going to slowly start uploading the remaining album tracks to Youtube. This week I’ve uploaded ‘Soar’ which is the one track on the album which has an acid jazz feel to it. If you’d like to have a listen, just head across to Youtube here:
Next week I’ll share with you more news on how myself and Mike are progressing with our new recordings.
Until then, take care
Laini xx
